Finally! All pictures has been processed and edited and are now ready for viewing!

So the first day, we (Karen, Ei Leen and I) arrived at Victoria Coach Station. Sadly, we were a little lost so we didn’t have the time to take any photos. Anyway, the journey started with the passing by of Theater Royal Haymarket along Haymarket Street. Beautiful architecture.

Soon after that, we arrived at the National Gallery. People here seem to like Roman columns a lot. Oh yeah, the Romans came here before *knocks head on wall*

p4020287.jpg

And Trafalgar Square was just next to the National Gallery.

imgp0713.jpg

And of course, the famous Nelson’s Column is smack right in the middle of the square.

p4020300.jpg

Everyone, meet Nelson. Nelson, meet everyone!

p4020301.jpg

There was this weird sculpture there that looks like a male with breasts without arms with one leg looking like chicken legs and the other leg folded between his crotch. Weirdo (this kinda art is just too complicated for me to appreciate).

imgp0717.jpg

Later, we continued walking towards Westminster and this is a random snapshot of the beautiful architecture of most of the buildings in London. Very detailed, refined, Roman and preeeeety.

p4020306.jpg

While we were walking towards Westminster, our route was distracted by The Guards. So happen that when we were walking pass, it was time for the changing of the guards. So we hoped into the scene and of course, started taking more pictures like tourists. Here’s a panoramic pictures of The Guards building.

the-guard.jpg

We even took a picture with one of the guards. (Note the contrast between our expressions and the guard’s). Of course, we thanked him for the picture and he acknowledged us with a little nod hardly noticeable.

imgp0727.jpg

After the Guards, we passed by Saint James Park. There were many preeeety flowers there. So nice and preeeety! LOL!

p4020319.jpg

And there was the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk, though we didn’t notice anything memorial-related in the walk at all.

p4020320.jpg

Anyway, next, we were off to meet the Queen! Buckingham Palace, here we come! We’d love to have tea with the Queen too! *crosses fingers*

Here’s another panoramic picture of Buckingham Palace.

buckingham-palace.jpg

Soon after trying our best to meet the Queen in person but failed miserably, we finally arrived at Westminster and we met Big Ben! Ben looks very big indeed. Of course, there’s the Palace of Westminster next to Big Ben.

p4020340.jpg

Interestingly, there was a group of homosexual people protesting outside showing banners and camping outside on the lawn right in front of the gates of the Palace.

Anyway, next on the list was Westminster Abbey which was just right across the road from Big Ben. Huuuuge Cathedral. Huge I tell you! Majestic and gothic too.

imgp0763.jpg

At the entrance, the door had a very elaborate sculpture of Jesus, his 12 deciples and angels. Such detail carving them out must have taken centuries may be even millennia to complete!

p4020348.jpg

After being satified with taking too many pictures as Westminster Abbey, off we went to The London Eye. Though we wanted to take a ride on it, the queue was freaking long! That would take up too much time and so we just decided to take pictures from the other side of the river.

imgp0764.jpg

Well, it started to get dark so we went back, had a nice hot shower and then out again! This time we went to Regent and Oxford Street. Shopping haven for everyone. And we even went into Hamley’s Toy Store! Hugeee store. Full of crap for children. LOL. Here’s a panorama of Oxford Circus and the architecture in the area.

oxford-circus.jpg

Walked until everything closed at about 9pm and then we invaded Borders! They close at 11pm so, we hung out there until half past 10 when we finally felt tired and return back for a good night’s sleep.

Day 2 was the visit to the British Museum! The ultimate museum to see the evolution and development of human culture and technology. The picture below is a panoramic view of the British Museum main entrance.

And here are some random photos from inside the museum.

imgp0787.jpg

imgp0795.jpg

imgp0796.jpg

imgp0802.jpg

Well, there were more than just Egyptian mummies and papyrus. There were artifact from China, the Americas, Greece, Rome, even Malaysia!

Sadly, the museum was bigger than we anticipated and couldn’t complete our round around the entire museum. But we’ve seen 60% of the musuem and it was worth it all.

After the museum, off to the Tower Bridge and the London City Hall. Here’s a picture of the two places. I don’t need to tell you which one is the bridge and city hall, do I?

p4030400.jpg

After crossing the Tower Bridge, we wanted to drop by the Tower of London but once again, just like the London Eye, the queue was as long as walking to the moon. So once again, we took pictures outside the Tower of London.

imgp0837.jpg

Feeling a little disappointed, we took the tube to Saint Paul’s Cathedral. Another big, huge, gigantic cathedral. We couldn’t take pictures inside the cathedral though.

p4030414.jpg

p4030411.jpg

Down from Saint Pual’s Cathedral, was the Millennium Bridge. A pedestrian bridge across the River Thames.

p4030416.jpg

And at the other end of the Millennium Bridge was Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Interesting shaped building. The building reminds me of the Hokkien clan buildings in Fujian provice in China. Just that those in China are 10 times bigger.

p4030415.jpg

And so our day ended with most places of interest visited around the area. At night, we took pictures at Piccadilly Circus with the famous billboards.

imgp0859.jpg

Day 3. We killed time before our coach ride home with a walk along Oxford Street and walking into every fashion shop and of course not forgetting Borders once again. Borders = heaven.

Well, that was how my trip to London was. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

cool pix, what are other interesting plaes for tourists in and around london

Guang: There are just too many places of interests in London. The ones that I visited is just merely the tip of the iceberg. Other places of interest include – Kew Gardens, Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum, Kensington Garden, Harrods, Somerset House, Temple Church etc.

    Thanks for the compliment! ;)

Love the panoramic pictures. Self stitched or camera stitched?

Nearly a year since I last go to London. Should visit it again since I don’t think I had enough of it even staying there for nearly a week.

Guang: The panoramic pictures, I stitched it using software automatically. I just need to select the pictures for stitching. London will never be a boring place to visit no matter how many times you visit. :D

    Guang: Thank you! :)

The Trafalgar Sq sculpture is the Alison Lapper Pregnant based on Alison Lapper, an English artist who was borned without arms. While some has criticised the sculpture, many of us Londoners has grew to appreciate it. Personally, I like it.

Glad you enjoyed London so much. It is a great place to live in.

Guang: Thanks for the informative comment. I’ll take a little longer to appreciate this kinda art. Now I’m still more to canvas and abstract. Sculptures will come soon enough. :p

WOW! London LOOKS like London.. and you… well, i haven’t seen you before!

Ahhh… very informative comment above. I was wondering how a new looking sculpture could break so fast (it was made that way, huh?).

Guang: London is London. London will be London. And it’s beautiful. If Malaysia (okay, may be not the whole of Malaysia but even if just Kuala Lumpur) looks like London I’ll be very happy and proud to be a part of it.

And now you know how I look like! ;)

My friends and I couldn’t stop looking at the sculpture. It was pretty amazing. LOL

Hm. You’ve gotten enough praises for now.

Oi! Are you deprived of food or something? You seem incredibly skinny… Eat more!!!

Guang: No praises for me?! Hmph!

Deprived from food?! The halls has been giving me more than enough food to eat daily. And since when I was fleshy before I came here?
