Facebook

Filed under: Blahs, Frustration — Guang @ 8:33 pm

Lately I’ve been plagued by several friend requests on Facebook by “unknown” friends. Take for example this “so-called-friend” - Chistina Kong.

1.jpg

No idea who she is. Therefore, I’ve sent her a nice and friendly message asking her for some information of herself asking in case I might have met her before but just couldn’t remember. The letter sounded as follows:-

Dear Chistina,

I am afraid that I have no knowledge whatsoever of your existence on Mother Earth and who you are in person.

Before I can approve your friend request, I would like to know you more. Whether you are a family member of mine (I’ll have to admit my family is too big to know every single one of them), distant family relation, long lost friend (if you are, I apologize for not remembering who you are), or any kind of relationship you and I both have in common or you just want to start a new friendship.

I hope you can reply this message as soon as possible as I am eager and looking forward to know who you are exactly.

Please do not be afraid if this message intimidated you. I mean no harm and am just curious who you exactly are.

Hope to receive a nice and pleasant introduction of yourself soon. Until then, your friend request is held under view. Convincing and successful replies or introductions shall be approved in a very short time.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I also noticed that all her “friends” don’t know her :-O Her wall is full of post asking her to introduce herself. Making me think that she’s a weirdo…

She doesn’t appear to be replying any of these guys’ request for more information of her.

And to make things even worse, ALL her “so-called-friends” are guys! I wonder whether it’s really that girl as pictured in her profile behind the screen. Here’s more proof!

3.jpg

Till now she hasn’t replied my friendly message requesting for a more formal introduction of herself to me. I guess I’ll give her a few more days. If not, I will not only block her and reject her request but report her! Muahaha! *evil laugh*

These kind of people shouldn’t exist on social networking sites. :(

It’s finally Christmas and I would like to wish a very Happy and Merry Christmas to you, you and you!

img_0432.jpg

I must really say that 2007 really flew past both my eyes (I say this every year) and that I’m now a teen no more. Oh well, we all gotta grow up!

Oh we had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner as planned last night!

img_0483.jpg

That was out agreed menu and everything came out excellent! Woohoo! Roasted Lamb Leg is probably one of the best homemade roast I’ve ever eaten!

img_0509.jpg

Oh, I also had a “plan” which I didn’t reveal to my house mates that I was going to set the table with some Christmasy decorations. It turned out like that -

img_0498.jpg

Pretty good for my first time decorating, don’t you think so? Had good reviews last night! LOL

img_0513.jpg

This is Haagen Daz Bailey’s and Cookies and Cream ice-cream with crushed Maltesers and Chocolate sauce. It’s a little melted, I know… but it was goooooooood!!! Oh, that golden globe was my gift inside the cracker. At first I got a tweezers which I don’t actually use, so Karen willingly exchanged hers with mine and hence the Golden Globe Award!

We ate everything, enjoyed the moment and absorbed all the happy feelings surrounding us. Had more fun with the crackers and comparing our gifts hidden inside. After dinner, we played cards all the way till 3 a.m. Yes you heard it right, 3 A.M. Had good fun.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Part I

Filed under: Announcements, Blahs, Nostalgia — Guang @ 1:21 pm

It is that time of the year where children go glee. Where people start to get some hype to willingly give people things for free. Where most of the turkeys in the world are slaughtered and roasted and where commercial businesses get their highest revenues.

Yes, it is. It’s that time of the year again. It’s Christmas.

img_0432.jpg

The time where pine trees are chopped down but instead of becoming furniture as they usually do, fortunately the pine manages keep its shape as a tree, only without roots. Shiny stuff will be thrown all over it. Strings, balls, all kinds of shapes and figurines, shiny and gleaming off the lights from the fireplace nearby. Presents of all shapes, sizes and “monetary value” will soon fill the lower sections of the tree. Some tall, some short, some square, some round. Some thick, some thin.

img_0469.jpg

A time where people come together to feast and laugh gaily.

img_0447.jpg

Turkey, roast, wine, crackers and all things western are served on a platter lavishly decorated with all kinds of food in all kinds of colours.

2.jpg

And to top it all off, a generous slice of Chicago cheesecake with a milky taste topped with berry sauce served in a huge plate.

img_0461.jpg

Wonderful ain’t it? I will say hands down, the cheesecake made my day. And the whole meal costs GBP10.90!

Happy Christmas everyone!

The Golden Compass

Filed under: Blahs, Opinions — Guang @ 2:00 pm

A group of friends and I went to watch the latest premiering movie, The Golden Compass adapted from the trilogy, His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman.

A good movie I would say. Definitely recommended if you’ve not read the book. Personally, I would not watch a movie that is based on a book that I’ve read before. The movie would then turn out to be very predictable and disappointing as with all movies based on a book, scenes will have to be cut and removed to shorten the film.

A definite yes and extra two thumbs up for this movie. As of this morning, I’ve already bought the first book to read from Amazon! Yay! Can’t wait for it to arrive within the next few days.

Go watch the movie!

Looks like Hindraf is going through an amazing chain of events going against them.

IGP: Hindraf trying to garner support from terrorist groups

KUALA LUMPUR: There are signs lately that the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) is trying to garner support from terrorist groups, the police charged yesterday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said Hindraf has also set up a fund by misleading the public into believing that the money is to finance its activities.

“We view such matters very seriously. It is also very worrying especially when we live in a multi-racial society.

“The police will not hesitate to take stern action against anyone to ensure that peace and security prevails in this country,” he said.

Musa also said the group was trying to sow hatred towards the Government and that its actions could spark racial clashes.

He said such dangerous sentiments were being widely spread via Hindraf forums, distribution of books and leaflets, on websites as well as through the short messaging service.

“It is also trying to rope in gangsters to prevent local authorities from demolishing illegal temples in the near future.

“The fanning of such racial sentiments among the Indians is very unhealthy and dangerous,” Musa said, adding that the police would not hesitate to invoke the Internal Security Act (ISA) against those who abused technology to stoke racial hatred or unrest.

The IGP said those found guilty of spreading such messages through SMS or e-mail could be jailed up to three years, fined RM10,000, or both, under Section 28 of the ISA.

One of Hindraf’s leaders, P. Uthayakumar, was reported as saying in an interview in Monday’s edition of Singapore’s New Paper that that he would not rule out using violence.

He was quoted as saying that the protest by monks in Myanmar last September inspired Hindraf’s public protest.

“The monks were prepared to die for their cause. I’ve shown slides of monks getting shot and killed during my roadshows and I think it struck a chord with the people.

“I think it’s quite unlikely we’ll head down that path towards a civil war but there’s always that possibility. Some of the uneducated may resort to violence,” Uthayakumar was quoted as saying by the paper.

He also allegedly made similar statements in an interview with Indian national television in a programme called Times Now, where he warned of serious consequences.

What?! Now they’re terrorists? Why on earth would terrorists would want to hand over a memorandum to the high commission when they can just walk up into the building and blow themselves up once and for all?!

Someone’s not using their head properly…
